Time and place: We stand in silent vigil every Friday (between 1pm and 2pm). In Civic (Petrie Plaza) beside the Merry go Round.

This video was taken some years ago. Taken by Ivo, set up for the web by Mary.

We are in Civic in front of statues draped in black.

New Session of Parliament (28th September 2010)

Today nine of us stood in vigil from 7.30am to 8.30am at the rear of Parliament House. The vigil greets the workers (including the politicians) as they arrive for work early in the morning. Again a silent vigil with very few signs. Joe Hockey’s comments to Zahira at the beginning of the previous session makes us realise that we are seen and known, and people do see us as keeping watch over their actions.
After the vigil two went to the Climate Action protest. At lunchtime there were a number of Women in Black present at the Refugee Action “People’s Assembly”. Yes, we are present and we are seen. We might not be telling people what to think, but our presence does make them think.
